On August 11, 2000, NATO bombed the Serbian capital, Belgrade, as part of its military campaign during the Kosovo War. The bombing aimed to weaken the military infrastructure of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The attack resulted in significant civilian casualties, including the deaths of more than 200 people. Many buildings, including government institutions and infrastructure, were destroyed. The bombing, although it helped end the conflict in Kosovo, sparked widespread protests and anti-Western sentiments across Serbia.
