On August 18, 1993, a truck bomb exploded outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people, including 19 children. The bombing was carried out by Timothy McVeigh, an anti-government extremist, and was the deadliest domestic terrorist attack in U.S. history at the time. The attack caused widespread devastation in the city and prompted significant changes in U.S. security measures. McVeigh was later executed for the bombing. The event remains one of the most tragic moments in U.S. history.
